we’re finishing a really fun weekend full of plenty of friend time and fave activities like coffee shop exploring (which includes spending way too much on a great cup of coffee at some really cute places) and my first ever double patty burger (at five guys burger and fries – the best ‘fast food burger’ i’ve ever had!). we had no plans and just did as we pleased… it was such a great feeling! it was a tad rainy which was a welcome change in temperature and allowed a few great nights of sleep. couldn’t get any better! have a lovely week, and i’ll see you back here on wednesday with a new fave fashion find. x
my home office desk is full of new beauty products i’m testing out – some real winners have emerged! | getting glam for a head shot (can’t wait to reveal what for!) | what says summer weather like sunnies and a while mani? (essie in blanc) | trying out a wonderful new coffee shop (le marché st. george) – try the zeppole! | friday afternoon cocktails with randa (my fave is a vodka mojito)
this week has been just as insane as last week! starting a new business is, to say the least, a major time suck. that being said, i completely get the meaning of the saying “do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life” on a whole new level now. it’s work, but it’s beyond fun. on june 1st i’m launching the business right here on the blog, and i’m excited to share with you what i’m working on.
this weekend we’ll plant our pots (with succulents i bought two weeks ago that have literally been sitting on my kitchen table ever since… good thing we don’t use it much) and will meet friends for burgers on saturday night. i hope your weekend is full of doing the things you love most! x

almost everywhere, the temperatures are heating up! when they do, the last thing i want to do is have much of anything on my face – foundations i’ve used through the fall and winter start to feel heavy and goopy as we start to overheat. what i do want is something to make my skin glow while feeling fresh and clean.
i reach for double duty light and fresh products like each of these to give me a little bit of coverage with an spf protection. bb creams are a good option, but don’t let marketing confuse you, they are almost the exact same product as a tinted (spf) moisturizer. even for oily skin types, these work really well and enhance the complexion with a forgiving level of coverage… because we all sweat!
josie maran tinted moisturizer spf 30, $38 | nars tinted moisturizer spf 30, $42 (this is my current go-to!) | tarte bb cream spf 30, $34 | revlon photoready bb cream spf 30, $16.95
so, not to humble brag, but i made these babies myself! no, i’m not a graphic designer, but with a little patience, and the help of google, i was able to design them for print. it’s pretty easy once you get a few fundamentals down. this is by no means a diy business card post, because i’m not a professional, but tinkered around in adobe photoshop elements to get a design i loved.

out of nowhere, the sun came out for the entire weekend! it was a warm few days and we made the most of it. saturday started out with pancakes, and ended with a beautiful meal out to celebrate my gf’s 30th birthday, with a little work hidden in there. sunday, i checked out the new-to-vancouver marshalls (it’s the same company as winners, and they have similar stock); i was so impressed with their shoe department! i may have bought a new pair of wedges. completely spacing on cinco de mayo, as we speak, pizza is in the oven for sunday dinner with my bf and his bro over a movie on the couch. sounds like an ideal sunday night to me! have a great week, and see you back here on wednesday – i’m revealing my new business cards along with a trick to give them a little ‘sparkle’.
a new print thanks to kardz kouture | almay threw a fantastic event complete with a buffet of lip glosses (i hadn’t ever tried almay, but i was really delighted with their formulas and quality!) | the biggest negative about our apartment is the lack of outdoor space. good thing is, we have a huge park nearby so we spent friday evening dining in the park; i made burgers and grilled corn salad | a weekday lunch on the new black + blue patio | ava wrapped in warm laundry, pretty much her fave thing in life
