we’re finishing a really fun weekend full of plenty of friend time and fave activities like coffee shop exploring (which includes spending way too much on a great cup of coffee at some really cute places) and my first ever double patty burger (at five guys burger and fries – the best ‘fast food burger’ i’ve ever had!). we had no plans and just did as we pleased… it was such a great feeling! it was a tad rainy which was a welcome change in temperature and allowed a few great nights of sleep. couldn’t get any better! have a lovely week, and i’ll see you back here on wednesday with a new fave fashion find. x
my home office desk is full of new beauty products i’m testing out – some real winners have emerged! | getting glam for a head shot (can’t wait to reveal what for!) | what says summer weather like sunnies and a while mani? (essie in blanc) | trying out a wonderful new coffee shop (le marché st. george) – try the zeppole! | friday afternoon cocktails with randa (my fave is a vodka mojito)
out of nowhere, the sun came out for the entire weekend! it was a warm few days and we made the most of it. saturday started out with pancakes, and ended with a beautiful meal out to celebrate my gf’s 30th birthday, with a little work hidden in there. sunday, i checked out the new-to-vancouver marshalls (it’s the same company as winners, and they have similar stock); i was so impressed with their shoe department! i may have bought a new pair of wedges. completely spacing on cinco de mayo, as we speak, pizza is in the oven for sunday dinner with my bf and his bro over a movie on the couch. sounds like an ideal sunday night to me! have a great week, and see you back here on wednesday – i’m revealing my new business cards along with a trick to give them a little ‘sparkle’.
a new print thanks to kardz kouture | almay threw a fantastic event complete with a buffet of lip glosses (i hadn’t ever tried almay, but i was really delighted with their formulas and quality!) | the biggest negative about our apartment is the lack of outdoor space. good thing is, we have a huge park nearby so we spent friday evening dining in the park; i made burgers and grilled corn salad | a weekday lunch on the new black + blue patio | ava wrapped in warm laundry, pretty much her fave thing in life
another week kicks off and we’re almost into may which means we’re like, really close to summer! i’ve been doing spurts of spring cleaning for the past 4-5 weekends. i really like breaking it up and tackling one or two junk drawers or messy closets a weekend – it’s so much less overwhelming that way. because i went cheap with my desk and bought it from ikea, the drawer was buckling under the weight of well, my junk. this weekend, i cleared everything out and i feel like i’m back in control of my space. oh, and last night, i made my very fave roast chicken for dinner. i’ve been told by more than one person i’ve made it for that “it’s the best chicken i’ve ever had” – so, you basically need to make it just to hear that kind of praise! have a lovely week. x
we attended the party for black+blue’s patio grand opening and i od’d on lobster rolls and a few vodka’s on the rocks – if they’re handing them out, i mean… | a quick elevator selfie (i realized afterwards how grubby the mirror was!) | ava was visiting her grandparents for a week and i was thrilled to have her home | iced coffee on a patio one sunny evening with my close friend, theresa | rainy saturday afternoons mean a little mani and mag time (essie ‘blanc’ and butter london ‘teddy girl’ – i went with blanc this time)
oh my goodness, i’m exhausted! it’s not my normal style to complain on a monday, but this weekend was very full of (fun) late nights! i usually stick to only having a few drinks so i’m not hungover because i don’t want to ruin the following day, and i stayed on track with that, but it feels as if i really overdid it. i’m still super sore from the yoga class on friday, how bad is that?! about a year ago, i did yoga about three times a week, but fell off the bandwagon (which i tend to do quite often, i must admit), and this class, kundalini, was a brand new style to me. i was completely self conscious since i was well out of my comfort zone, and cannot believe i am still sore – it’s a sign i need to go back, and often. here’s to hoping this week is kind to me… and to you as well! x
pre-saturday night outing | the start of white wine sangria – my bf makes the most delish homemade version with his dad’s homemade wine! | a few new things… pretty sure i have spring (shopping) fever. i can’t tell you how many notebooks i have scattered through my apartment… | an afternoon spent at rainier over my fave “flat white” chatting with a girfriend was a total highlight of my week (sidenote: i consider myself a coffee snob – the coffee here is fantastic – it was the first time i had tried the famous stumptown coffee out of portland, and i see what the fuss is about!) | ringing in spring with my cream crochet toms and my fave spring anorak
as i type this, i’m literally digging into that jar of ice cream above – sunday nights were made for a little indulgence! i’m feeling refreshed after a very fun weekend spent with friends, and a full day with my bf. we had nothing on the agenda saturday night so got take out burgers and fries and caught up on the mad men premiere! what did you think? i’m not sure where it’s going… it’s definitely different from the past season but i’ll try to “trust the process” as they say. don’t fail me now, don. see you back here on wednesday! x
sunday morning with ava | the flowers are out in vancouver and i’m spending a lot more time outside enjoying them | a saturday afternoon pinkberry pit stop – my bf’s choices are a tad more girly than mine | thanks to my gf (who is a food reporter for ctv here in vancouver), i’m addicted to the earnest ice cream she brought over. this one is a coconut kaffir lime – it’s vegan and really, really delish | an afternoon walk with ava – i love breaking up my afternoon getting outside with her, it makes me so much more productive than sitting at the computer all day
