i’m not going to lie – the hustle is hard and exhausting! some days you’re up to it, and others, you allow yourself to feel discouraged. i’ve realized that it’s definitely about your frame of mind (tip: keep it hopeful and positive!). if you remember this post (where i divulged my entire career story to this point), i’m in the market for a new gig. i’ve signed on to provide my digital marketing services to a few of my favorite companies but i’ll tell you, it definitely hasn’t come easily, and admittedly, it’s been more difficult than i imagined. i’ve heard a few “no’s” where i was sure i’d hear a “yes” and have learned so, so much about pitching oneself. it’s also been challenging apparently because it’s summer and everyone takes it easy (except for me), the processes drag out a tad longer than i’d like. bring on september, long sleeve shirts, dark lippy and responsive emailing, please!
i’ve been trying a new technique to get some restful zzz’s that has worked wonders. i always sleep with my phone beside my bed like we probably all do. after a few stressful, lucid nights, i tried something new. i turned my phone off. not on airplane mode, off. it must have somehow soothed my subconscious, because these past three nights i’ve slept like i haven’t in years. this showed me that we underestimate the amount of anxiety our phones give us… am i right? i encourage you to try it (unless i’m the only freak who hasn’t learned this little tidbit of dreamy goodness yet?!)
this weekend will be a great one and i hope yours is, too! x
