i’ve been baking for years (fun fact, i started weekly baking at 10 years old!), and have always been somewhat obsessed with finding the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe. my favourite ccc’s are low maintenance, chewy and moist with crispy edge’s and plenty of gooey chocolate and crunchy nuts. are you ready to never look back? here is my ultimate chocolate chip cookie recipe!

ULTIMATE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
yields 3 dozen
1/2 pound unsalted butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed light-brown sugar
2 large eggs
3 cups plus 1 tablespoon flour
1/2 tablespoon sea salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 pound mixed milk and bittersweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
1/2 cup toasted pecans, chopped
method:
- pre-heat oven to 350 F
- cream butter, eggs, sugar and vanilla and beat until fluffy and light
- mix in dry ingredients followed by chocolate and nuts and mix until combined
- shape by hand in tablespoon sized balls and place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet (forming into balls will keep the cookies thick)
- bake until browning, checking often as the key to chewy cookies is under-baking just slightly
my gf recently had her first baby, so i baked her a boxful and took them over to meet her little girl, isla.
