a bright pink or magenta lip for summer is by far my favourite makeup look. combining a pop of colour with an otherwise natural makeup is fresh, bold and is totally appropriate for a sunny summer day or a sultry summer night. plus, it looks spectacular with a tan.
the key to mastering the look (so that you don’t look like a showgirl) is to really keep it neutral on the rest of the face. leaving the eyes bare with the exception of some highlight on the inner corners and brow bone and mascara along with a hint of blush and some bronzer will really finish off the minimal look for the face, letting the focus remain on your pretty, punchy pout.
if you’re concerned that a lipstick is too heavy for summer, leave it sheer with a blotted application and top with a clear gloss – this keeps the formulations versatile and you can bring the lippy into the next season with you.
